TGO’s role in the UNFCCC process

Over the past years, TGO actively and continually involves in the UNFCCC process, as part of the Thai delegation. In addition to its participation in the negotiation, TGO supports national preparatory process, by providing analysis on international progressive development trends, as well as providing recommendations on the formulation of Thailand’s positions, in areas relevant to the work of TGO.

For the negotiation under the COP/CMP/CMA and relevant bodies, the focus of TGO is on matters relating to cooperative approaches and mechanisms to promote greenhouse gas reduction, as well as their inter-linkages with other issues.

  • Matters relating to joint implementation (JI)

Agreed outcome pursuant to the Bali Action Plan

  • Framework for various approaches (FVA)
  • Non market-based approaches (NMA)
  • New market-based mechanism (NMM)

Paris Agreement

  • Guidance on cooperative approaches referred to in Article 6, Paragraph 2 of the Paris Agreement
  • Rules, modalities and procedures for the mechanism established by Article 6, paragraph 4, of the Paris Agreement
