TGO Organized The UNFCCC COP 20 Side Event On “Climate Change Capacity Development Activities In Southeast Asia Region: Enhance Capacity Through The CITC”

On Tuesday 2 December 2014, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) - under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment - jointly with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) organize the UNFCCC COP 20 Side Event on “Climate Change Capacity Development Activities in Southeast Asia Region: Enhance Capacity through the CITC” on Tuesday 2 December 2014, at Japan Pavilion, Pabellónde Países Building, Lima, Peru.

This side event aims to (1) Promote the Climate Change International Technical and Training Center (CITC) – established under TGO – and its upcoming activities in 2015; and (2) to provide a forum for Southeast Asian countries to share experiences, needs and lessons learned on climate change capacity development activities in their countries.

In this regards, Mr. Ruengdej Mahasaranond , Ambassador of Thailand at Lima, Perú and Mr. Michihiro Oi, Director, Office of International Strategies on Climate Change, MOEJ had offered opening remarks. In the panel discussion session on “Capacity Development experiences, needs and lessons learned in Southeast Asia”, Dr. Jakkanit Kananurak, Director of CITC, representatives from Indonesia, Vietnam, and Japan had shared the current activities as well as needs for capacity development on climate change in their countries, more than 60 participants had participated the event.
