TGO Shares Visions On The Session “Global Implications Of Climate Change”

On 9 September 2014, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) participated the seminar on “Global Implications of Climate Change” organized by the European Union Delegation, the UK Embassy and the German Embassy, the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning of the ministry of Natural Resources and Environment at the Swissotel Nailert Park, Bangkok. The objective of the event is to raise awareness across business and society towards a new global deal on climate in 2015.

Dr. Natarika Wayuparb, Deputy Executive Director, TGO was invited to join the session on “Global Implications of Climate Change” which the panelists were from leading institutions such as Ms. Suwanna Jungrungrueng, Director, BMA, Ms. Sutthiya Chantawarangul, Programme Officer, EU and Mr. Christoph Mairesse, Director of the Thai-German CC Policy Programme, GIZ.

Dr. Natarika shared her visions and thoughts on climate change problem that it is an urgent issue which has to have the right policy to move it from local to international level, additionally, the government should develop a nationally appropriate mitigation actions list in preparation for the new deal in 2015. In addition, she also shared TGO’s capacity building activity which is the establishment of Climate Change International Technical and Training Center or CITC which is aimed to be a “one-stop technical and training center” and networking platform on mitigation and adaptation for the Southeast Asia countries.
