Workshop On Capacity Development Role For GHG Inventory In ASEAN Countries

Climate Change International Technical and Training Center: CITC in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with the support from National Institute for Environmental Studies of Japan (NIES: under the Ministry of Environment, Japan) organized the Workshop on “Capacity Development Role for GHG Inventory Preparation in ASEAN countries: How can Training Facilitate to Breakthrough the Barriers on GHG Inventory Preparation”. The workshop was held on 7 August 2014, at Pullman King Power, Bangkok. In this regards, the Chairman of the Board of Climate Change International Technical and Training Center, Mr. Sunthad Somchevita offered opening remarks.

In this event the speakers were from various organization expertises in the field of National Greenhouse Gas Inventory both government sectors and academic sectors such as Ms. Elsa Hatanaka from Greenhouse Gas Inventory Office of Japan (GIO), Mr. Conrado Heruela from United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Dr. Shuzo Nishioka from Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) and several others specialists. The objectives of this workshop are for exchanging information on barriers and issues related to sustainable GHG inventory development and exploring possible solutions to solve such barriers. Moreover, to initiate networking among GHG inventory related stakeholders through CITC networking platform.
