Meeting With Permanent Mission Of Thailand To ASEAN At Jakarta Indonesia On The Establishment Of Climate Change International Technical And Training Center (CITC)

 On 18 February 2014, Dr. Jakkanit Kananurak, Director of Capacity Building and Outreach Office, TGO and Mr. Satochi Iemoto, JICA expert supporting to CITC project had visited Mr. Suvat Chairapant, Ambassador, Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN at Jakarta Indonesia. The objective of the visit was to introduce Climate Change International Technical and Training Center (CITC) to the Ambassador as well as seek for an advice for promoting CITC to ASEAN region.

During 18-19 February 2014, Dr. Natarika Yayuparb, Director of Strategy Office, Dr. Jakkanit Kananurak, Director of Capacity Building and Outreach Office, TGO and Mr. Satochi Iemoto, JICA expert supporting to CITC project visited National Council on Climate Change (DNPI) and Ministry of Environment, Indonesia (KLH) at Jakarta Indonesia. The objective of the visit is to promote Climate Change International Technical and Training Center (CITC) to be recognized as the ASEAN’s key training center and network hub of climate change issue as well as to exchange views and opinions for further cooperation. The discussions were very constructive and received many positive responses. Indonesian National Council on Climate Change (DNPI) and Ministry of Envoronment, Indonesia (KLH) had accepted to be lecturer and curriculum reviewer on forestry and REDD+ and GHG Inventory respectively.

On 18 February 2014, Dr. Natarika Yayuparb, Director of Strategy Office, Dr. Jakkanit Kananurak, Director of Capacity Building and Outreach Office, TGO and Mr. Satochi Iemoto, JICA expert supporting to CITC project had visited ASEAN Secretariat at Jakarta Indonesia. The objective of the visit is to promote Climate Change International Technical and Training Center (CITC) to be recognized as the ASEAN’s key training center and network hub of climate change issue as well as to exchange views and opinions for further collaboration among ASEAN Secretariat and ASEAN countries. The discussions were very fruitful and received many positive responses. Mr. Larry Maramis, Director of Cross-Sectoral Cooperation, ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Department congratulated on the establishing CITC in Thailand and recommended that CITC should be presented its progress to the ASEAN Working on Climate Change (AWG-CC) this April 2014.
