This workshop aimed to strengthen capacity of staff members in governments, private and civil society in the Asian region on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); the implementation of GHG inventory system and Emission Trading; in different countries as well as to exchange advanced knowledge and experiences on addressing climate change among participating organizations, countries and regions.
Around seventy representatives and participants from Asian and Pacific countries including government official, 3rd party verifier of GHG emissions and sustainable development and climate change experts. Participants discussed on the 2030 Agenda, the SDGs, the IPCC Guidelines for GHG inventory and Measuring, Reporting and Verification (MRV), Emission Trading Scheme and Climate Action Policies. In addition, TGO arrange the site visit to Bang Kachao, Samut Prakan province to let participants see the large green area nearby Bangkok which absorb could 6,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually (research conducted in 2011 by TGO and the Faculty of Forestry, Kasetsart University)
