This project aims to build up Thailand’s readiness to mitigate impacts of Greenhouse Gases emissions and Global Warming. In this event, Ms. Waraporn Hirunwatsiri, Senior Environmental Specialist, World Bank, Thailand gave a welcome remark and opening speech. Dr. Pongvipa Lohsomboon, Deputy Executive Director of TGO, gave a presentation on “Global Warming Crisis” to demonstrate impacts of Global Warming to raise awareness and accelerate finding solutions in various dimensions.
This Climate Talk invited 5 distinguished speakers to join and share their experiences and perspectives on Climate Change and Global Warming management includes, 1) Mr. Prinn Panitchpakdi, Deputy Party Leader, Democrat Party, and Head of Economy Team, reflected his view in economic dimension on country development and drivers to mitigate Global Warming. 2) Mr. Nutthakorn Utensute, Director of Planning Bureau, the Excise Department, presented low carbon development policy framework and taxation approach in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 3) Assistant Professor Dr. Naporn Popattanachai, Director of the Centre for Natural Resources and Environmental Law, Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, reflected his ideas in legal dimension which related to linkage between law and climate change. 4) Mr. Jirayut Srupsrisopa, CEO, Bitkub Capital Group Holding Co., Ltd., presented his vision in technology dimension specifically application of Blockchain technology for GHG information management and analysis of GHG abatement cost. And 5) Mr. Wasan Donchai, chief executive of Thamanao Subdistrict Administration Organization, Chai Badan, Lopburi, showed his vision and perception of local administrator in shifting toward low carbon city, in further, Thamanao has registered its GHG reduction project under the TGO’s Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction (T-VER) project. This event beneficially provided significant perspectives of the experts from various sectors which could eligibly leads in further and major areas of studying in order to overcome Global Warming.
