On Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Pullman Bangkok King Power, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) by Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP) and Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO held a press conference on the achievement of greenhouse gas reduction according to NAMA target and transition to NDC target. This event aims to announce the achievement of NAMA greenhouse gas reduction target and preparing for NDC goals in the future, as well as public relations and dissemination to all sectors in order to combat climate change. In addition, this event was honored by Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa, Minister of MONRE, to be the president of the opening ceremony, with more than 200 participants.

        Thailand on NAMA Target to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by 7-20 % by 2020. In 2018, Thailand achieved the target by reducing greenhouse gas emissions as 57.84 MtCO₂eq, or 15.76 %. In year 2021 Thailand will start the new target of NDC phase which is to reduce 20-25 % of greenhouse gas emission by 2030, targeting on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in 3 sectors as Energy and Transportation sector, Industrial Process and Product Use sector, as well as Waste Management sector, which needs the strong collaboration among key stakeholders and supporting mechanism to achieve the new and challenge target.
