Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO developed Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER) to support greenhouse gas mitigation for achieving Thailand’s NDC target. Currently, there are 228 registered T-VER projects with expected amount of greenhouse gases (GHG) emission reduction around 6.01 million tCO2eq/year and 121 registered T-VER projects that have certified the GHG emission reduction with 7.9 million tCO2eq. In addition, 43 T-VER methodologies in 7 categories are available under T-VER.

In 2021, TGO has developed 7 draft T-VER methodologies for supporting GHG reduction calculation including;
               1) Modal shift in passenger transportation by rail-based mass rapid transit
               2) Using new hybrid vehicles/electric vehicles
               3) Use of electric bus to improve energy efficiency in public transportation system
               4) Switching of clinker or decreasing the blend in cement production
               5) N2O abatement from nitric acid production
               6) Cold energy recovery from liquefied natural gas regasification process for liquid     
nitrogen production
               7) Energy efficiency and fuel switching measures for buildings

TGO organized three virtual focus group meetings to get comments and suggestions from experts, related agencies, and stakeholders of T-VER project, including project developers and validation and verification body (VVB). The first and second meetings were conducted on 9 and 19 July 2021. The third meeting will be organized on 30 July 2021. After that, TGO will revise the methodologies according to the comments received and present the revised methodologies to the sub-committee for approval.
