On November 5^th , 2020 at the Grand Fortune Hotel Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO, in collaboration with the Department of Local Administration (DLA) organized the first workshop on "Guidelines for the calculation of Carbon Footprint for Local Administrative Organizations" as a part of the activities under the Memorandum of Cooperation between TGO and DLA. The opening ceremony of the workshop was honorably presided by Mr. Pramote Srivisut, Director of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Office for Local Administration and Dr. Pongvipa Lohsomboon, Deputy Executive Director of Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization. There were more than 80 representatives from local administrative organizations participated in the workshop.

         This workshop aimed to develop capacity of officials of local administrative organizations to disseminate knowledge and calculation method for preparing the organization’s Carbon Footprint, to understand greenhouse gas reporting system and guideline to set GHGs reduction targets and strategies. The workshop also provided participants on how to assess and set up a climate and environmentally friendly urban development plan. The objectives of the workshop are in line with the DLA's indicators on Local Performance Assessment (LPA)
