MNRE by TGO in collaboration with MOI promote provincial greenhouse gas reporting to develop the provinces toward a low-carbon city.

          On March 1, 2022, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) organized  an online training on “the reporting of provincial greenhouse gas inventory” under the development of provincial greenhouse gas reduction guideline project  to provide knowledge on the development of provincial greenhouse gas inventory via online reporting platform to officials and related stakeholders from various organizations at provincial level. This could enable the provinces to report greenhouse gas inventory within their jurisdiction. The greenhouse gas inventory can be used to formulate policies, plans, goals and practices to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to support the country in achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions target.

          In this training, Mr. Suthipong Chulacharoen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior honorably presided as the chairman and Mr. Kiatchai Maitriwong, Executive Director of Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization delivered welcome remarks and project background. Mr.Suthipong emphasized the important of the provincial actions on greenhouse gas emissions reduction and climate change adaptation to alleviate the climate actions in achieving the national targets, which was announced by the Prime Minister. In this event, Ms.Sumon Sumetchoengprachya, Director of the Low Carbon City and Society Office and technical officers from the Low Carbon City and Society Office introduced the guideline to develop provincial greenhouse gas inventory in various sectors e.g., energy, transportation, waste management, industrial processes and product use and agriculture, forestry and other land use .The contents of presentations also included the way to access and use greenhouse gas inventory reporting platform (CCF Platform). There were 500 participants from the Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment and various related agencies at the provincial level across the country attended the training via Zoom application and 120 participants attended via Live Streaming of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization Facebook.
