31stAugust 2020, Mr.Chatuporn Burutphat, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) is co-chair of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony “Integrating cooperation in climate change management for Thailand to achieve the goal of reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions in Industrial Process and Product Use sector: Clinker Substitution Measures” together with 5 ministries, 16 organizations: government agencies, professional sectors, industrial sectors, academics sectors and Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO by Mr. Kiatchai Maitriwong, TGO executive director, at the Grand Ballroom Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok.
In action to achieve Thailand’s NDC targets, Thailand has developed “Thailand's Nationally Determined Contribution Roadmap on Mitigation 2021 – 2030 (NDC roadmap 2021 - 2030)” to be a framework and guideline for the relevant agencies. In “Industrial Process and Product Use: IPPU” sector by “Clinker Substitution Measures”, one of the NDC roadmap, will reduce GHG emissions approximately 300,000 tCO2eq.In addition, to get supporting and promoting from both public and private sectors in order to the use cement and concrete products that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, there will increase the potential of greenhouse gas mitigation to 850,000 tCO2eq.
