TGO announced an honourable recognition to “The Royal Kathin Ceremony on the fiscal year of 2020 hosted by MNRE” for its climate action on offsetting all their GHG emissions as a Carbon Neutral Event

        Bangkok (26 November 2020): Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO announced an honourable recognition to “The Royal Kathin Ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment (MNRE) for the fiscal year of 2020” held from 10 to 11 October 2020 at Wat Pa Lelai Worawiharn Temple, Mueang Suphan Buri District, Suphan Buri.  Mr Varawut Silpa-archa, the Natural Resource and Environment Minister and the MNRE staffs as well as other participants as of 650 persons has attended this royal event while the event’s GHG emission as a result from electricity consumption, transportation, residential activities, food, paper and another product used as well as waste generated from this event has been assessed and accounted as of 28 tonCO2eq.

         The Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment has purchased offset carbon credits according to this event from a agricultural waste to biomass energy renewable project registered under the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Scheme.  This event has been offset all its residual emissions after the best effort on their reduction practices to demonstrate as a carbon-neutral event and realized as the first Carbon Neutral Event of Royal Kathin Ceremony in Thailand

         Apart from that, organizing MNRE’s carbon-neutral events help reducing resources and energy consumption for the organization and be recognized as a role model for their leadership in transition to low carbon society as well as contribute to the country’s GHG reduction.
