TGO announced the establishment of the TCNN at the COP 26 Side Event, which aims to promote cooperation from all sectors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions attempting to achieve the country's Net-Zero goal

           On 8 November 2021, Mr Kiatchai Maitreewong, Executive Director of Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO, announced the success of the establishment of the Thailand Carbon Neutral Network (TCNN) at the seminar "Thailand Carbon Neutral Network: Climate Action Partnership towards Carbon Neutrality". This initiative aims to promote cooperation among government organizations, the private sector, and the local community to reduce greenhouse gases with a common goal for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions which will be a factor supporting the operation to achieve Thailand's Net-Zero goal in the end. At present, there are more than 122 organizations participating as network members, including private organizations, academic institutions, foundations, business associations, international organizations and public sector organizations which all members are keen on and have intentions to participate in greenhouse gas reduction activities and projects including feasibility studies with operational guidelines for corporate carbon neutral targets. The executives, officials and other interested participants from COP26 joined the seminar at Thai Pavilion, Glasgow United Kingdom and the seminar was also broadcast live streaming on TGO Facebook.

          The seminar also included a presentation on Advancing Partnership through Collaboration with Climate Neutral Now and collaboration with TCNN by Mr Miguel Naranjo, Program Officer, Climate Neutral Now Lead, UNFCCC secretariat as well as a panel discussion on “Climate Action Partnership towards Carbon Neutrality”, This session brought together representatives from the Securities and Exchange Commission, Thai Ecotourism and Adventure Travel Association, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, NR Instant Produce Public Company Limited, and Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd. to discuss the goal, action plan, challenge, and need for support for climate action.
