TGO in collaboration with CMU organized a stakeholder consultation meeting on the (draft) policy recommendations for promoting the application of the circular economy concept for low carbon industrial development in the EEC area

On 21st of July, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO in collaboration with Chiang Mai University or CMU organized a stakeholder consultation meeting on the (draft) policy recommendations for promoting the application of circular economy concept for low carbon industrial development in the EEC area under the "Project on Circular Economy Application for Low Carbon Industrial Development in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area". The meeting was organized online via the Zoom Meeting and the opening ceremony was honorably presided by Dr. Pongvipa Lohsomboon, Deputy Director of Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization.

In this meeting, Ms. Sumon Sumetchoengprachya, TGO, presented the overview of the project before Asst. Prof. Wongkot Wongsapai, CMU, presented the (draft) policy recommendations for promoting the application of the circular economy concept for low carbon industrial development in the EEC area to collect opinions and recommendations from stakeholders and other relevant agencies for the (draft) policy. TGO will use the suggestions and recommendations from this meeting for improving the (draft) policy, which will be proposed to authorities and related agencies for formulating a low carbon industrial development policy based on the circular economy concept. The formulated policies will alleviate industrial competitiveness by reducing risks of raw material shortages and production costs, reducing waste and consumption of natural resources as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, the developed CE model for low carbon industries will be applied to other industrial areas (if applicable) to promote sustainable and low-carbon circular economy industries. There were 118 participants from government agencies, the private sectors, and state enterprises in this meeting.
