In May 2022, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO in cooperation with Prae Province organized the 2nd meetings with the Provincial working Groups on the Development of Greenhouse Gas emissions reduction guideline. The objectives of the meetings were to present the provincial Greenhouse Gas inventory in 2019 (base year), the forecast of provincial Greenhouse Gas emissions during 2021-2030, including mitigation measures in accordance with the provincial context. The working groups approved and selected some measures to develop detailed mitigation action plan.

          On 20th May 2022, Mr.Wichian Anusasanan, Vice Governor of Prae Province honorably presided as the chairman of the 2nd meeting of the Prae Working Group on the development of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Guideline. The meeting was organized at the Chotmaihet meeting room, Prae City Hall with 40 participants in the meeting. Director Provincial Offices for Natural Resources and Environment Phrae is the secretary of the meeting. The Working Group acknowledged the provincial Greenhouse Gas inventory and its forecasted emissions during 2021-2030. They approved 25 mitigation measures of Prae Province and selected 4 Greenhouse Gas emissions reduction measures to further develop detailed action plan for promoting to use of biogas instead of LPG in the residential sector , promoting to reduction of solid waste from the source, promote to change of public lighting to LED lamps and promoting a good agriculture practices. The Working Group set the emission reduction target at 13.80% by the year 2030 based on Prae mitigation potential which accounted for 289,604 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂eq).

          After the meetings, TGO will finalized all findings and adjust mitigation measures as recommended by the Working Groups, as well as prepare provincial Greenhouse Gas reduction action plans and the results of emissions and storage of greenhouse gases from land use of the province to present to the Working Groups in July 2022.
