Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO organized the 3rd advisory committee meeting on the development of circular economy and low carbon industry in the area of Eastern Economic Corridor and Ayutthaya Province on Monday, June 14th, 2021 via an online platform (Zoom Meeting system). The Objectives of the meeting are to obtain the opinions regarding the development of circular economy model in the industrial sector and suggestions for the implementation of CE projects in these areas. The project advisory committee consists of experts from related agencies such as the Department of Industrial Works, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center, the Office of Industrial Economics, the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand and the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee Office.
In the meeting, Chiang Mai University, the project consultant, presented the progress of the CE project implemented in the Eastern Economic Corridor area (development of the CE-EEC Model, (draft) policy recommendations for promoting the application of circular economy and low carbon industry in the EEC area, low carbon technology survey and improvement of the GHG Mitigation Information Platform website), while the King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, the project consultant, presented the progresses of the project implemented in Ayutthaya area (calculation of carbon footprint for organization from the pilot plants, collecting material flow data and existing waste recycling process of pilot plants, including results of the pilot plants selection with their waste circularity potential). The experts gave recommendations and suggestions to improve the implementation of the projects to be more effective and consistent with the project’s objectives. Results from these two projects will be presented to the experts again at the 4th meeting in August 2021.
