On April 7^th, 2022, Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO verified the "Greenhouse Gas Emission Report of Tonpao Town Municipality, Chiang Mai Province" at Office of Tonpao Town Municipality, Chiang Mai Province. This is an activity under the Carbon Footprint for Local Administrative Organization (Local CFO) project. Mr. Charin Kaewnam, Deputy Mayor of Tonpao Town Municipality warmly welcomed the verification team before Ms. Sumon Sumetchoengprachya, Director of Low Carbon City and Society Office honorably presided the opening of the verification activity. The objective of the verification is to help local administrative organizations understanding the principles of the verification of local CFO and could improve the data management system of their organizations. In this regard, it will upgrade the credibility and reliability of their data and information, which could be used to identify and set up their greenhouse gas reduction plans efficiently and effectively.

          In the process of verification, Dr. Surat Sedpho from University of Phayao was the leader of verification team described the procedure and agreement of the verification. After that, the municipal working group presented the municipal’s greenhouse gas inventory. The verification team then interviewed the municipal officials to inquire further information and to confirm/check evidence and data management system, which were used to prepare the municipal’s greenhouse gas inventory. The team explored related organizational activities and summarized the results of the verification for the municipality to improve/modify the inventory.
