31 May 2022, Mr Rongphet Bunchuaidee, the TGO deputy executive director, gave a welcome remark for the SET executives and its registered companies to distinguish delegations to the training opening ceremony. There are 406 delegates who participated in the training which aims to enable capacity building for the participants to know more and understand the quantification of the carbon footprint for the organization, the Greenhouse Gas Management and mitigation through various tools such as the Science-based target which in accordance with the Paris Agreement commitment, the internal carbon pricing which helps to support the organization’s risk management, exploring the new business investment and carbon cost analysis in order to drive the organization’s Greenhouse gas reduction to achieve its committed target.
To conduct the Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) is to quantify the organization’s Greenhouse Gas emissions within its responsible or reporting boundary. the organization not only realized their emission quantity and status but also could contribute to their public disclosure through their sustainability reporting according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) or the SET’s criteria. Apart from that, the CFO developed by the TGO was recognized as one of the eligibility criteria included in the Carbon Disclosure Programme (CDP) evaluation system. The CDP is the global non-profit organization that conducts the Climate Disclosure and Climate Performance Leadership Indexes (CDLI & CPLI) for companies globally while the Down Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) will occupy the CDP evaluation data and information to conduct its rating and ranking on the sustainable business and being used by the investor on their sustainable investment. Currently, an investment in sustainable business becomes more attempt the major investor on a global scale, continually.
